Membership in the Association for Career and Technical Education of Nebraska (ACTEN) is open to teachers, administrators and support staff. Membership is also available to personnel in middle schools, high schools, area technology center, technical/community colleges, state colleges and universities.
ACTEN and its national affiliate, ACTE, are committed to the success of its individual members and to the promotion and support of career and technical education as a whole. ACTEN advocates before the Nebraska Unicameral and U.S. Congress on issues important to career and technical education. ACTEN partners with the Nebraska Department of Education to sponsor the annual Nebraska Career Education Conference. ACTEN also provides professional development, networking, leadership skill development, and awards programs for its members.

Member Insurance Program
ACTE provides you with a $25,000 policy for common carrier accidental death and dismemberment insurance within the first year of annual membership through Forrest T. Jones Insurance Company. The policy increases by $5,000 annually with continuous renewal of membership (up to a maximum of $50,000). In addition, you have access to professional liability and other insurance options at discounted rates through ACTE’s group buying program. Please note, this is available to U.S. members only.
The liability insurance rates through Forrest T. Jones are $94 a year for a $1 million policy or $131 for a $2 million policy. Very reasonable for the peace of mind of having coverage should we need it.
